The Boat is a mini 650, a class of fast ocean crosser sailboats of 6.50m long. Light, with a huge sail area and optimized to the limits, It promises to deliver thrilling runs!

 

Buidling a sailboat in the United Arab Emirates is likely to be a challenge. A very few speciallised suppliers have distributors here and the trends in the region is largely toward buidling motor boats. Therefore, most of the supplies will come from oversea; the plywood from Cape town, the rigging and the sails from Britany in France. The deckgear, running rigging and other supplies are still to be sourced...

 

  DUDLEY DIX  DESIGN  

The design selected is the Mini Didi MK3 by Dudley Dix from USA. Dudley is a reputed Naval architect who designed and built a large range of racers, cruisers, single and multihulls sailboats.
